Now there is just one Mod Installer which contains everything required to each Far Cry game, so you download one file and you can install mods for all Far Cry games. If you're using the Mod Installer for longer time, you know there were MIs for each Far Cry game as separate download item.

MI uses mods which are called packages (extensions a2, a3, a4, a5). Quite a few changes have been made to animal behavior and the mini map with this mode, so be sure to look over the various challenges it provides.
